16-unit plan
Students studying the 16-unit Master of Public Health (Tropical Health) will complete eight courses (each course is worth two units). This can be achieved in just one year full-time or over two years for part-time students.
The 16-unit Master of Public Health (Tropical Health) is available to students who already hold an appropriate four-year degree. It is a coursework only degree – students who are planning to go onto completing a research higher degree (ie. PhD or MPhil) are advised to complete the 24-unit Master of Public Health (Tropical Health) program. For more information on your suitability for the 16-unit plan, please contact us.
Students undertaking this degree will complete all of the School of Population Health’s core foundation courses. They will also choose at least two of these courses:
- International Disease Control Priorities PUBH7100
- Infectious and Tropical Disease PUB7101
- Reproductive and Child Health PUB7106
Students choose their remaining electives (to a total value of four units) from the SPH course list or select up to two courses from electives outside the School (with approval from the Program Co-ordinator).
