Lucy is based within the Queensland Alcohol and Drug Research Education Centre (QADREC). She had her husband recently moved from Canberra but hail from Melbourne (Lucy is a passionate Geelong fan!).
Lucy completed her Bachelor of Human Nutrition in 2006 at the University of Canberra. She have worked in the fields of nutrition counselling, complementary medicine and obesity management in individualised settings, before deciding her passion lies in population-based health promotion. She commenced postgraduate studies soon after, and is currently working towards completing her Master of Public Health Nutrition through Deakin University in Victoria.
Lucy’s particular interests and strengths are in public health nutrition research methods and the implementation of public health interventions in marginalised populations, nutritional epidemiology and the links between diet and chronic disease. She explains: “I hope to pursue a career in public health research, graduate from university next year with my Master’s course, and gain valuable experience and knowledge from my fellow colleagues at SPH.” When not working or studying, Lucy loves cooking, food and, of course, watching the Cats play.
