Life as a Research Student
RHD students at SPH are encouraged and nurtured to develop into the public health leaders of tomorrow. They are fully engaged in the day-to-day life of this research-intensive School and often work alongside supervisors on 'real' projects that reflect the diversity of population health priorities researched across the School.
The School's supportive environment for RHD students includes:
RHD Student Group
The RHD Student Group is open to all RHD students at SPH. It encourages a sense of community and peer support among students, while also representing the School at management level.
RHD Conference
The annual RHD conference helps students develop important skills needed for life as an academic. It sees students deliver presentations on their research to staff and fellow students, in a format similar to that of scientific conferences. Awards are given to outstanding presenters.
Research and Research Training Committee
The Committee comprises of SPH staff and RHD students. It manages the PhD and MPhil programs and develops policy on research higher degrees.
More detailed information on life as an RHD student can be found in SPH's RHD booklet or on UQ's Graduate School website
