This website answers the commonly asked questions about conceptualising, organising and writing a thesis, and discusses the major stages in doing a PhD and what students might experience in each of these stages.  Although written primarily for PhD students, parts of this website would be of interest for all students writing a thesis, including Honours and Masters students.

Provides a wealth of material on things such as how to write assignments, study effectively, prepare for exams, and get the most out of the time you spend studying.

Provides answers to questions international students commonly ask about what it's like to study in Australia .

University Study and Writing Skills
Developed for distance students, this site has a wealth of material about succeeding at university studies which is of relevance to all students. Topic coverage is similar to the Uni Study website, but has all-new materials, including material on studying statistics and scientific writing not covered on the Uni Study website.

Approaches to Reading, Researching & Studying
These PowerPoint slides remind us how central questioning is to all our activities at university. Plagiarism
What is plagiarism and what are some of the ways students can come to unintentionally plagiarise? Work through this interactive workshop to find out the answers.  The university's official policy on what constitutes plagiarism and the range of possible consequences for a student accused of plagiarism can be found in the Handbook of University Policies and Procedures  HUPP 3.40.12

Referencing
This interactive workshop will take you through the basic principles of why, when and how to reference correctly, as well as identify some of the common traps and misconceptions. Links to other guides on referencing are also provided.
