Biography:
Dr Hayatbakhsh is a Senior Research Officer (Social Epidemiology) in the School of Population Health at The University of Queensland. He holds a MD from Tehran University of Medical Science (1992) and a PhD from the University of Queensland (2007). Before moving to Australia in 2003, Dr Hayatbakhsh worked in medical practice for 8 years and was the General Director Public Health and Deputy for Health in Qom University of Medical Science in Iran for 4 years. His PhD addressed early life predictors of young adults' use and abuse of illicit drugs. His research interest includes but is not limited to the epidemiology of mental health problems, in particular anxiety and depression, from childhood to early adulthood.Qualifications:
